Building the Next Era
Building the next era for our district means reconnecting with our communities and delivering a government that truly meets their needs. For our city to prosper and grow, we must first restore trust in local government by being accessible, transparent, and accountable to the people we serve. Housing affordability is the foundation for a strong community, and addressing it goes hand in hand with investing in critical infrastructure—from safe communities and reliable childcare to well-maintained parks and public spaces. To strengthen and renew our district, we must also pursue thoughtful economic development that brings opportunity, supports families, and enhances the region as a place where people want to live, work, and stay.
Housing
To create a strong and vibrant community, we must address housing affordability. Since 2019, housing costs have risen by more than 40% on average, placing a growing strain on families and the community. When housing becomes unaffordable, residents are pushed into survival mode, limiting their ability to engage and thrive in their community. A community cannot flourish when its neighbors are struggling to afford housing, and we cannot expect to attract the next generation to the community if housing needs go unaddressed. Ensuring accessible and affordable housing is vital to building a strong and prosperous community.
Economic Development
If we want to bring high-paying jobs to our district and strengthen our community, we must prioritize attracting quality businesses and developments that improve everyday life for residents. Local government has a responsibility to help guide this growth by creating the right conditions for responsible investment—while ensuring development aligns with community needs. Economic development should be thoughtful, intentional, and beneficial, not growth for growth’s sake. By focusing on developments that create good-paying jobs and long-term opportunity, we can help families thrive and build a stronger, more resilient local economy.
Infrastructure
Infrastructure is more than the roads we drive on or the buildings we use—it is the foundation of our community’s daily life. It includes access to affordable childcare, recreation programs, parks, and the amenities that connect our community. Strong infrastructure also means clean, safe, and well-maintained neighborhoods where residents feel proud to live. When paired with accessible and affordable housing, these investments create a stronger and healthier community. To build the next era, we must focus on enhancing a wide array of infrastructure so our district can thrive now and into the future.
Accountability & Transparency
Rebuilding trust with voters begins with accountability and transparency. Much of the distrust and disconnect we see today stems from residents feeling excluded from policy decisions and uncertain whether their voices truly matter. When elected officials are not clearly accountable to their constituents, confidence in government erodes. Being open and honest about decisions, challenges, and progress is essential to restoring that trust. Elected officials who prioritize transparency and remain accountable to the people they serve create a more responsive government and better represent the communities that elected them.
Education & Accessibility
Throughout my involvement in government, I have always believed in digging deeper and understanding the “why” behind decisions—and voters deserve that same clarity. Too often, policies are made without clear explanation, leaving residents disconnected from the process. A key pillar of my campaign is education: helping people understand how their local government works and what issues are shaping our community. Elected officials must be accessible, responsive, and willing to explain their decisions, serving as a true bridge between the people and their government. Because local government is the level closest to residents, it has a responsibility to meet people where they are—recognizing that voters lead busy lives and should not have to navigate complex systems or conduct extensive research just to stay informed and engaged.
